The Value
At only $20 per night for a large site with electricity, you'll find this slice of paradise affordable. Cash preferred; checks accepted per our Check Policy. Stay 5 nights, get the sixth consecutive night FREE! It's our way of saying Thank You for choosing Chalk Hills Campground. Reservations are free — call (906) 639-2286 or email us with your contact info, preferred dates, and site(s). We'll check availability and get back to you, usually the same day. *Calling is preferred on weekends. Registration envelopes are available at the registration area at the well house near the entrance. Simply fill out the short form on the envelope and place the payment portion in the payment pipe by the entrance and hang the flap on the numbered post for your site.

Located just off the Menominee River, the campground is easy to reach from Michigan or Wisconsin. Just off MI Chalk Hill Rd onto State Rd W-2, near the Chalk Hills Dam.

The Sites & Amenities
The Details
Large, well spaced wooded sites — no more hearing the neighbors snore! Both 30 amp and 50 amp service available. Some pull-through sites. Picnic table and a large fire ring at each site. Self-registration pay envelopes at entrance. Cash preferred, checks accepted, no cards. $20 per night. Stay 5 nights get 6th consecutive day Free! Drinking water available at the registration area. Play area for children with swings, sandbox, and tether ball. Two privy style restrooms so all sites are close to one. No dump station on site. Quiet hours are from 11pm CST until 8am CST. Be a good neighbor! Extinguish all fires before leaving your site.
Wooded & Peaceful
Nicely wooded with mature trees. Very quiet area with minimal road traffic. Lots of birds, small animals — even the occasional deer. Wood that is already down may be collected for your fire, but no cutting of standing trees is allowed. Otherwise, bring your own wood.
Pets & Nature Trail
Pets We understand that your pets are part of your family too! Up to two animals such as dogs and cats may be at your campsite with you. All pets must be contained or on a leash. Please clean up after your pets. Trail A ¼ mile loop trail winds through the trees from the back of the campground to the front entrance. Bring a buddy or your dog. Just listen to those birds singing!
River Access
Short trail to riverfront via WE Energies land (open to public use) — sit by the water, walk the trail, or fish (with proper license). Riverview, not riverfront, so fewer water bugs and safer for kids. Trail to MI Hwy K leads to a handicap-accessible fishing platform on the Wisconsin side. Two boat launches within 5 miles. Wisconsin or Michigan residents only need a fishing license from their home state — the Menominee River is boundary line water. Boating: There are two boat launches nearby 2 miles North at WE Energies site #4 4 miles South at WE Energies site We advise against swimming in the Menominee River near the campground as the nearby dam creates a dangerous current. There is NO SWIMMING directly at this campground.
